Festival of the Sea
Festival of the Sea is an annual event designed to promote cultural, historic and community ties between Southeast Ireland and the Southern Avalon region of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
The festival had activities such as concerts and evening socials of music, rhyme, song and dance; conferences on history, fisheries, heritage and community development; and cultural tours.
The PATH troupe was chosen to participate in 2007. Past and present members of PATH along with the current Artistic Director, Peter MacDonald, his wife Ronalda and the troupe's Co-ordinator Helen Griffin went to Ireland as ambassadors for the Placentia area. Their experience was both educational and pleasant. From reviews given of the Festival the troupe made an very good impression in Ireland with their singing as well as their theatrical performance.
